HIMATAKSIFO FISIP UNIB Holds a National Archives Talkshow

Archives are records of activities or sources of information in various forms made by institutions, organizations, and individuals in the framework of carrying out activities. Archives can be in the form of letters, scripts, deeds, charters, books, and so on, which can be used as valid evidence for actions and decisions. In managing an archive, particular expertise is needed to keep the archive in good condition.

Considering that good archive management is needed, HIMATAKSIFO FISIP UNIB held a National Archives Talkshow with the theme “Archives Management: Optimizing Human Resources in the Field of Archives in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0” (Thursday, 05 December 2019).

The National Archives Talkshow activity presented speakers from outside the city of Bengkulu. He is one of the experts in the field of archives, and he is a writer. He is Muhammad Rosihan Hendrawan, SIP., M.Hum. As for the books he wrote, among others, archiving studies: from policy issues to management, textbooks for reference service materials, knowledge management: knowledge concepts and practices in learning organizations.

The National Archives Talk Show activity was opened with a dance performance typical of Bengkulu province.

After the welcoming dance, the National Archives Talkshow activity was opened by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Mr. Dr. Suparman, M.Sc. The opening of the National Archives Talkshow was greeted lively by the attendees. Apart from the Deputy Dean, lecturers from the Bachelor of Library and Information Science Study Program also attended the National Archives Talkshow.

This activity was attended by hundreds of people from various circles, both students and the general public. For students, there are more students in the Library and Information Science Study Program than students of other majors because archival material is related to several courses. At the same time, the general public consists of employees who have worked in an institution that handles the filing sector.

The moderator who led the National Archives Talkshow was Hanif Fathin Siddiq, S.S.I, who graduated from the Library and Information Science Study Program. The National Archives Talkshow activity began by giving several questions about archives to the resource persons led by a moderator.

After the National Archives Talkshow activity, the awarding of souvenirs to the speakers was given directly by Ms. Fransiska Timoria Samosir, S.Sos., M.A (Lecturer of the Library and Information Science Study Program S1). Furthermore, the awarding of souvenirs by the chairman of the Library and Information Science Student Association (HIMATAKSIFO) was given directly by Alfani as General Chair of HIMATAKSIFO.
