Welcome to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Bengkulu University (UNIB)
The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Bengkulu University (UNIB) was established in 1982, along with the establishment of UNIB based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 1982 and inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. David Yusuf.
FISIP has 66 teaching staff supported by 40 administrative staff (16 of whom are temporary staff) to serve 1800 students. The number of graduates is 4747 people who have been spread in various agencies, both government and private.
FISIP’s commitment as a higher education provider leads to the study and development of the quality and competitiveness of graduates, organizational health, and anticipation of external situations such as global communication and technology, community development, local autonomy, and regional development. In line with this, academic activities in this department/study program will be more focused on activities that can develop students’ competence and commitment to solving community problems on a micro and macro basis. Thus, they gain complete theoretical competence, besides having sensitivity and practical skills on various social, economic and institutional changes and concern for social welfare issues.
Changes in discourse, both at national and international levels, regarding PBM in Higher Education from teaching oriented to learning oriented have also encouraged changes in the planning process at various levels of University institutions. Currently, the existing departments and study programs are encouraged to develop a planning model based on periodic self-evaluation, especially to determine mid-term and annual programs and activities (Renstra and Renop). In this planning, apart from designing programs and activities that support PBM, it also plans for the development of human resources (HR) institutions according to needs.
