HIMA KS Still Organized SWORD 2020 Via Online
KS FISIP UNIB II Social Welfare Students as future professional social worker candidates are required to increase their sensitivity and concern for social problems that grow and develop in society. Social Worker Training (SWORT) is an annual routine activity that is carried out as capital and a first step for new Social Welfare students to better understand the concept of Social Worker.
In 2020, SWORT will be held for three days starting from Friday-Sunday, (25-27 September 2020) at 08.00 WIB – 11.30 WIB. Taking the theme “Introduction to Social Welfare Science To Be a Professional Social Worker”, this year’s implementation was very different from previous years. Why is that? Because this year SWORT activities are carried out virtually or via online using the Zoom Meeting application. This was done due to the Covid 19 virus pandemic which has infected the whole world so there is an appeal not to gather or meet with many people in order to avoid contracting the Covid 19 virus.
The objectives of implementing the 2020 SWORT-KS activities are: a) To provide understanding and learning about the conception of social workers to Social Welfare Science students as prospective professional social workers; b) Increase the sensitivity and sensitivity of Social Welfare Science students to social problems that exist in society; c) Stimulating Social Welfare students to understand more about the social worker profession; and d) Introducing and increasing familiarity and a sense of kinship among fellow social welfare students.
On the first day (Friday, September 25 2020), SWORT activities were opened by the Head of the Department, Ms. Desy Afrita A.KS, MP. After the opening, the activity continued with the presentation of the material presented by the speakers. According to the event agenda, the first day featured two presenters. The first material was delivered by Drs. Cucu Syamsudin, MPS.SP explained what social welfare is and the basic concepts of social welfare. The second material was delivered by Mr. Zulman Effendi S. Sos regarding the prospects or job opportunities of Social Workers. The first presenter is a senior lecturer at the Department of Social Welfare, while the second speaker is an KS alumni who is active in Sakti Peksos for child welfare and protection.
