Good news comes from the Department of Communication Science FISIP Bengkulu University. Starting on September 21, 2021 the S1 Communication Science Study Program (Prodi) FISIP UNIB has been declared officially ranked SUPERIOR from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN PT).
This achievement was received after the S1 Communication Science Study Program underwent an online field assessment process on September 3-4, 2021 with the BAN assessor PT Dr. Suratnoaji Chess, M.Si and Dr. Suwandi Sumartias, M.Si.
Superior ranking is the highest accreditation ranking in Indonesia for the latest format standard 9 criteria from BAN PT. The achievements obtained by the S1 Communication Science Study Program are also the first superior ranking for study programs at the University of Bengkulu.
Head of Department as well as Head of S1 Communication Science Study Program Dr. Lisa Adhrianti, M.Si revealed that this success cannot be separated from prayer, hard work and support from various parties who have spent a lot of time and thought for the accreditation process starting from the preparation of accreditation form to the field assessment process, namely University Leaders, Faculty Leaders as Study Program Organizing Units (UPPS), University Quality Assurance Institutions and Faculty Quality Assurance Units (LPMPP and UPMF), UPT Cooperation and International Services (KSLI UNIB), Lecturers, Students, Alumni, Education Personnel, Partners and Users of S1 Communication Science Graduates. “This achievement will be a proud historical record for the academic community of Bengkulu University and the public in general, because the S1 Communication Science Study Program is a favorite study program that is always in demand by prospective new students”.
The process of achieving the accreditation results is also a long process involving two leadership periods of the Dean of FISIP and the Head of the Communication Science Department of UNIB. “The preparation of the form to the assessment process takes a long time because of the Covid-19 pandemic problem starting in 2020” said Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP UNIB) Dr. Yunilisiah, M.Si.
Superior rankings can be achieved because the requirements need to achieve superior accreditation values have been considered to meet 362.
The S1 Communication Science Study Program has special characteristics in the field of Coastal Community Development Communication with three achievements of graduate competencies, namely Journalism, Public Relations and Communication Consultants.
The S1 Communication Science Study Program has also developed and realized national and international cooperation within ASEAN in accordance with the vision expected by universities and faculties. In addition, this predicate is also inseparable from other achievements related to the quality of lecturers, students, alumni and educators as well as the satisfaction of graduate users who have been measured and have been published.
The S1 Communication Science Study Program which has been established since 1999, currently has 7 qualified lecturers with international national publications along with adequate citations, has a revised curriculum in accordance with the format of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), has outstanding students at the national and international levels, has a laboratory for broadcasting specifications,
Furthermore, this superior ranking requires strong and consistent efforts to be maintained properly so that the S1 Communication Science Study Program can become a benchmark for other study programs inside and outside Bengkulu University.
