
Encouraging Student Creativity, Multimedia Communication Laboratory Holds Webinar Career Opportunities as Content Creators in the Digital Age
Located in the meeting room of the dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Bengkulu University Wednesday (21/9), Multimedia Laboratory of Communication Science and Journalism Science Fisip University of Bengkulu held a Webinar on Creator content opportunities as a career choice in the digital era delivered by Eko Agustio.
The webinar, which is filled by speakers who have had a career as producers on various national tv, said that the current generation must be able to read opportunities and must be more creative, especially in the digital era like now technological advances have an important role in the development of one’s career, including students who are currently studying in college. Various jobs that used to not exist now appear as the main choice. One of the promising jobs in the digital age is content creators.
“The current digital era, especially at a young age where the younger generation is very close to technology must be able to read the opportunities that exist, all of us are now available, we just have to be smart to take advantage of it,” explained Eko.
According to him, the opportunity to become a content creator is currently very wide open, one of which is if students are able to take advantage of various existing social media channels. Added this man who is a MU fan, the abundant social media container must be maximized because social media can be a source of income.
“The career opportunity to become a content creator is very wide open today. Suppose we can maximize our cellphones by adding photo and video editing applications,” explained Eko who has been a producer in Hijab Hunt, Celebrity and Black and White Trans Tv stations.
Eko explained, when he became Senior Manager Tiger Wong Entertainment or better known in the public as Baim Wong, he gained a lot of experience to produce content that could make people continue to follow the content.
“We can take advantage of the content around us, there are things that people don’t expect can be content, check moments, for example whether it’s for news, sports, or other things that we think we can make content. Remember, we have to do all of that to the maximum,” he said.
At the end of the activity, he advised students to continue to work and not stop in creating creativity. So that what is made is something that can be useful and even produce economic value. “It is important to note that what we do is a hobby so that there is no burden to carry it out, then it is not ashamed to ask if we don’t know it,” suggested Eko who is currently busy in helping Deddy Corbuzier’s activities.
In a separate place, the Head of the Multimedia Laboratory majoring in Communication Science and Journalism Science Fisip Bengkulu University Dwi Aji Budiman said that this activity is part of a laboratory program to increase scientific insight for students to compete in the future when students have graduated from the study program.
“We see that there are many opportunities that can be used by students later, therefore this webinar we focus on career choices that can be done by students when they have graduated from communication or journalism study programs. From now on we have provided them with knowledge as a basis for creating job opportunities for themselves through the ability to develop talent, creativity, and pay attention to the moments in the environment around them, so that from now on students already have the capital for a career later,” explained Aji.
