Overview of Study Program of Master in Social Welfare<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The establishment of study program of Master in Social Welfare\u00a0 is based on a letter from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Directorate General of Higher Education Number 5927\/E2.2\/KL\/2014 in the form of a mandate for\u00a0 University of Bengkulu to organize\u00a0 new study programs, namely study program of Master in Social Welfare, Master in English Language Education, and Bachelor of\u00a0 Statistics.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Following up on this mandate, the necessary preparatory steps were carried out for the implementation of the study program. Based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 295\/KPT\/I\/2016 , on September 5 year 2016 study program of Social welfare was established. The Implementation of this study program under the supervision of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of University of Bengkulu.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In Indonesia, there are only 4 universities that have study program in social welfare. One of them is study program of Master in Social Welfare of University of Bengkulu. The implementation of study program of Master in Social Welfare still limited to Java Island. Currently, study program of Master in Social Welfare of University of Bengkulu is the only Master in Social Welfare outside Java Island The lack of this educational institution, especially at the Master and Doctoral levels is a serious problem. This is suspected to be the main cause of the slow development of social work and social education in Indonesia. Therefore, the establishment of study program of Master in Social Welfare is\u00a0 very important and expected to make contribution for the social development at local, national and international level.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following is sequentially the formulation of the vision of the university, FISIP and Social Welfare Study Program.<\/span><\/p>\n

a).Bengkulu University’s vision is to become a world-class university in 2025. (Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 75 of 2013 concerning the Statutes of Bengkulu University).<\/span><\/p>\n

b).The vision of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) is to become a faculty that develops studies of social sciences and political science on coastal and forest edge communities of ASEAN regional class in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

c.)The vision of study program of Master in Social Welfare\u00a0 is to become a leading study program in the field of social welfare science development that has professional and competitive advantages within a development framework based on local, regional and national potential, which is managed according to participatory, ethical and moral principles<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to realize the vision of organizing the Social Welfare Science Masters Study Program, the following missions will be carried out, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Organizing quality master program education in the field of social welfare that focuses on a participatory approach.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Serving requests from elements of the academic community, government, and the business community, community and stakeholders in the fields of education, research and service in the field of social welfare studies.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Produce masters of social welfare who have sensitivity to local, regional and national social issues, and are able to solve problems using social work intervention methods.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The study program of Master in Social Welfare mission is in line with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences \u00a0mission formulation, which is the organizing unit of the Study Program, namely:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Developing education and research in the fields of social sciences and political science at the local, national and ASEAN region.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Producing works with Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) status.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Carry out services according to the needs of coastal communities and forest edges at the local, national and regional levels.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Expanding the network (networking) to the ASEAN region in education, research and service in the field of social sciences and political science.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Develop a good and clean faculty governance system.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The formulation of the mission of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) is inseparable from the mission of the University of Bengkulu, namely:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Develop world-class education and research.<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Producing works with Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) status.<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Carry out community service according to the needs of local, national and international communities.<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. Developing a good and clean university governance system.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        VISION OF STUDY PROGRAM\u00a0 OF MASTER IN SOCIAL WELFARE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        The study program of Mater in Social Welfare aims to produce graduates who have professional competence in social welfare disciplines, who are sensitive to social issues, and\u00a0 able to implement social work interventions in the framework of social welfare development.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Mission<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Producing graduates who have professional competence in social welfare<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Conducting researches on social welfare studies.<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Conducting community services which implementing the results of social welfare studies<\/span><\/li>\n
        4. Realizing the implementation of qualified study program especially in social welfare.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
