In order to improve students' skills and skills in the field of photography, the Undergraduate Journalism Study Program held a Food Photography Workshop which was attended by 80 participants from the 4th semester of Journalism Undergraduate Students who took photography courses on Thursday, March 10 2022 in the Postgraduate Hall Room of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Bengkulu University.
This event was attended by the Head of Journalism Study Program Yuliati S.Sos., M.I.Kom and opened directly by the Dean of FISIP Bengkulu University, Dr. Yunilisiah., M.Sc
This event was held to provide participants with more knowledge about food photography, how to take a photo angle of a food product that can arouse your appetite. Of course, also pay attention to the photo techniques and tricks explained by the speaker and food photographer Kurniawan Dwi Putra (daydream) or who is usually called Mas Wawan.
"Soft skills must be owned by students when the orientation is after graduating from work, basic entrepreneurs must be owned, especially in the field of photography, especially food photography, after we get the skills and gear (tools) that suit our needs we must also look at the target market related to marketing and mastery of the media in marketing our products. Then the work (portfolio) becomes a must. Multiply references and practice frequently, the key to improving skills," said Mas Wawan when he became a speaker at a food photography workshop.
For those who have high enthusiasm in the world of photography, this event will be interesting and very useful. The series of events that lasted for approximately 4 hours included material presentation, food photography practice and continued with photo review and editing by the resource persons.
With this activity, the participants and their respective groups practice food photography individually by choosing MSME products in Bengkulu City, and all of the participants' photos will later be displayed in a digital exhibition via Instagram @s1jurnalistik_. There will be a selection of the 3 best photo categories.
