99th Period Judizium of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences

The 99th period of the Judiciary Event of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Bengkulu, was held on Wednesday 7 September 2022, attended by around 133 participants from the Vocational, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs from various study programs. The series of Yudisium events were opened by the dean of the faculty of social and political sciences Dr.Yunilisiah.M.Sc and continued by the presentation of the number of participants who joined and their study programs by Dr. Drs. Tamrin, M.KM as vice dean of student affairs. Other submissions were also represented by Yogi Kurniawan as the best graduate in the 99th period of the Public Administration study program. From the journalism undergraduate study program itself there were 11 participants in the event namely Arta pronika Siregar, Gustiawan, Maryanti Br Nababan, Widiastuti, Gustari Johandari, Boni Mahendra , Edo Yoga Erlangga, Shella Erylir Dewanti, Rahmad Firdaus, and Rezki Oktavio Armadi. With the highest GPA predicate from the undergraduate journalism study program, Arta Pronika won with a total GPA of 3.80 and Gustiawan won the best thesis. The event was interspersed with entertainment agendas from Aldi Purwansyah and Anisa Wahyuni as student representatives who had participated in the LIDA Indosiar event. Furthermore, the event ended with the awarding of placards to all Yudisium participants.
Promotion of the Faculty of social and political science in Padang

“As students we were asked to provide an overview and explanation of how our respective study programs are. I am very happy to be able to join in the activities in the Faculty of Social Sciences promotion event and feel proud to be trusted by the head of the department to represent my department. I hope that next year there will be promotional events in other cities and this agenda produced results, namely the interest of high school students to consider Bengkulu University and Social Sciences as one of the options for them to continue their education. SMA N 2 Painan thank you for the arrival of the Bengkulu University Promotion Team to their school. “We are very enthusiastic and thank you for coming, I hope that apart from being a gathering event, this agenda can also increase motivation for our students and be able to continue their education at Bengkulu University later on.” also accompanying Dr. Dhanurseto Hadiprashada S.IP., M.Sc. S2 promotions are more targeted at regional institutions or agencies, one of which is the Padang Social Welfare Education and Training Center (BPPKs Padang). FISIP UNIB Holds 1st International Conference on Development Communication

The Department of Communication Science together with the Journalism Study Program and the Communication Science Masters Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) Unib, successfully held an international seminar “1st International Conference on Development Communication (ICDC)”. which was held at the Mercure hotel on 18-19 October 2022. This activity carried the theme “Prospect of Communication for Development in the Digital Era”.
This international seminar was attended by 45 academics from various universities, namely Bengkulu University, Bengkulu Muhammadiyah University, Riau University, Riau Islamic University, Raden Fatah University Palembang, Gabur University, Palembang State Islamic University, Andalas University, Makasar University, UIN Sunan Gunung Jati, Nurdin Hamzah University Jambi, Sebelas Maret University, STIA MI Jakarta, Singaperbangsa Karawang University and others.
The International Seminar activities were opened directly by the Chancellor of the University of Bengkulu, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri and also the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Bengkulu, Dr. Yunilisiah, M.Si who also gave a speech. The Governor of Bengkulu, who was originally scheduled to be the Keynote Speaker, was represented by the Bengkulu Provincial Office of Communication and Information, HM Redwan Arif, MPH. The opening ceremony was marked by the beating of Dol together by the Chancellor of the University of Bengkulu, Dean of FISIP University of Bengkulu, Head of the Bengkulu Provincial Communication and Information Service, Head of the Department of Communication Studies (Rasianna Br. Saragih, M.Sc), Head of Masters in Communication Studies Study Program (Dr. Dhanurseto Hadiprashada , M.Sc), Head of Journalism Study Program (Yuliati, MIKom), Chair of the 2022 ICDC Committee (Dr. Alfarabi, MA) and the four speakers. The speakers for this seminar came from Malaysia, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Participants who attended were lecturers and several students who were members of the group.
The first material was filled by Dr. Azahar Kasim from the School of Multimedia Technology and Communication University of North Malaysia on narrative journalism and digital information, the second material was filled in by prof. Atish prashar who is the Dean and Principal of School of Media Arts & Aesthetics of South India Bihar Style Center University. The third material was delivered by Sakiroh yoeana Benharoon from Sangkia University, Thailand about community-based tourism communication in the digital era and the last material was delivered by Wahyu Widiastuti, m.sc from Bengkulu University about challenges and prospects in the digital era. This activity took place from 08.30 until evening, this activity really satisfied the participants with the materials presented. After the international seminar activities there was an MOU agreement and all participants were directed to present research presentations in accordance with their respective sub-themes.
Signing of PKS Unib Journalistic S1 Study Program with UMBY Communication and Multimedia Studies
The Journalistic S1 Study Program of Bengkulu Negri University (Unib) collaborated with the Communication Studies Study Program of Fikomm and the Multimedia team of Mercubuana University Yogyakarta (UMBY) on November 2, 2022 in the UMBY FIKOMM meeting room
This collaboration is carried out to improve institutional performance, support independent campus learning programs, and carry out the Tri Dharma of higher education.
There are several points that have been agreed in the cooperation program which are stated in the letter of intent, namely: 1. Conduct seminars, workshops and discussions on the study of communication science for students and lecturers2. Conducting the Independent Learning Cooperation program for the Independent Campus3. Conducting community service and social responsibility cooperation programs 4. Conducting a collaborative program for writing scientific journals for study programs5. Conducting a program of collaboration between study program student activity units
This collaboration was signed by the Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences Journalism Study Program UNIB, Yuliati, S.Sos., MI Kom, and the Chairperson of the FIKOM Communication Studies Study Program and multimedia UMBY, Rani Dwi Lestari, S.Sos., MA (YMS)

Public Relations Journalism- The Bengkulu Negri University (Unib) Undergraduate Journalism Study Program signed a collaboration with the Communication Studies Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY), on Monday 31 October 2022 at the Communication Sciences Campus of FISIP UMY, Yogyakarta
Cooperation agreement made by both parties in order to carry out the Tri Dharma Higher Education activities in the form of teaching, community service and research on a regular and periodic basis.
In the cooperation agreement, several points have been agreed, which are written in the Letter Of Intent between the Unib Journalism Study Program and the UMY Communication Studies Study Program in article 2, these points contain: 1. Conduct seminars, workshops and discussions on the study of communication science for students and lecturers. Conducting the Independent Learning Cooperation program for the Independent Campus3. Conducting community service and social responsibility cooperation programs 4. Conducting an exchange program for writing scientific journals for study programs 5. Conducting a program of cooperation for student activity units of the study program
This cooperation agreement was made after some time previously a meeting was held to discuss the initiation of cooperation between the Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences Journalism Study Program, Yuliati, S. Sos., MI Kom and the Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences Study Program, UMY Dr. Fajar Junaedi, M.Sc. (YMS)
